Emergency Checklist
If you have water damage - Follow these important safety tips to help minimize loss until we arrive to start the restoration process:
- TAKE ACTION!!! RAPID RESPONSE SAVES TIME AND MONEY!!!
- CALL NOW : 816-233-5557
- Try to identify the source of the water and stop it.
- If it's safe to do so turn off electricity to the affected area.
- If ceilings are sagging be careful they may collapse and cause injury.
- Wear protective equipment: rubber gloves, rubber boots, etc. (If the water is contaminated it could be harmful to your health).
- Remove small items off of the floor.
- Place plastic or aluminum foil under furniture to protect furniture and help prevent permanent staining on the carpet.
- Prepare unaffected dry areas for restoration crews to move furniture.
- DO NOT stand in any water if electricity is on, electric shock may occur.
- DO NOT use a house vacuum or shop vac to remove water, electric shock may occur.
- DO NOT turn on fans. (Including heating and air conditioning units) If water is contaminated, fans may spread contamination to unaffected areas.
